I am passionate about working with kids with high needs and being able to make a difference in their lives, even if it’s small. I previously worked as an adapted physical education teacher for 2 years, teaching PE to special needs children from kindergarten to 5th grade; coached and assisted with Special Olympic bowling, basketball, and track and field for elementary- to high school-aged students; and did my summer clinical at the Down Syndrome Association, doing language intervention with children with Down syndrome. Project ASPIRE is giving me great tools to better understand and work with these kids.

“My future career goals are to work with the pediatric population in a variety of settings, especially the school setting.”

Fun Fact: “I have an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology. I originally wanted to do PT, but speech therapy won me over!”
