“I have always wanted to work with children in some capacity. With the DIR Floortime certification, I have opportunities to help guardians connect with their children who have autism and feel more confident in their relationship. Their experience of the world is so unique and often misunderstood, and Project ASPIRE will give me the tools to expand their opportunities for connection that we as humans so naturally desire. Knowing I will be impacting the hearts of caregivers and their children is what pulled me to the program.”
“My future career goal after graduating is to expand my OT toolbelt by experiencing multiple settings, including but not limited to ECI, pediatric inpatient, and transitional settings. This variety can help me to maximize my learning over the years and stretch my creativity within OT. Another goal of mine is to implement more school-aged Autism research into the database because there is such an emphasis on early intervention, which is important, but we must be careful not to neglect the child’s changing needs as they grow older.”
